What is THE DAM?
The Digital Asset Museum (THE DAM) is the first nonprofit digital asset museum in the world on a mission to champion crypto artists and builders by showcasing the history of crypto art, explaining crypto culture, and elevating digital artists.
THE DAM curates engaging museum experiences that immerse audiences, taking them through the entire timeline of the history, modern day significance, and future of digital art and the artists that have brought us here today.
About THE DAM: Mission
Our mission is simple: to make digital assets—like NFTs, memecoins, and blockchain art—appreciated and understood by all. We're building a world-class museum that presents the chronological history of digital assets through an entertaining, unbiased narrative. The experience highlights the pioneers who shaped the space, uplifts emerging artists, and explores the full spectrum of crypto art and culture across its many movements and moments.
Education: Teach the public about the evolution and relevance of digital assets and crypto art.
Preservation: Archive and immortalize significant digital assets and the stories behind them.
Inspiration: Showcase pioneering artists, highlight emerging talent, and educate & inspire new waves of creators.
Community Building: Unite creators and collectors from the digital asset community to expand appreciation for digital assets as a whole.
The Location
THE DAM is located in the sunniest city in the entire world, St. Petersburg, FL, USA. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the city holds the record for the most consecutive days of sunshine.
St. Pete is a town on the west coast of Florida housing 16 museums already, including the world famous Dali Museum, and THE DAM will be the 17th.
St. Petersburg is an incredibly art-forward city with perfect year-round weather, making it an amazing place to proliferate the mission of digital assets and crypto art.
THE DAM itself is being designed as a 6500 square foot space with 550+ feet of ultra high-quality LEDs wrapped around virtually every single wall of the museum, creating an incredibly immersive environment to tell the chronological story of digital assets and crypto art to all who visit.
The museum will also be a host to many crypto-related events, overnight hackathons, and a collaborative workspace for members of THE DAM. It will be a place of inspiration where builders can pour their hearts into their projects to share with the world and where visitors can learn about the story of digital assets and crypto art
